About the project
On the slope
Rather than level the site, the retreat follows it. Each suite sits one storey below the last, so every roof becomes a terrace for the room above.
Built for snow
Deep overhangs keep the glazing clear in heavy snowfall, and the concrete walls store the low winter sun and release it through the night.
Quiet interiors
Inside, the palette is kept to oak, wool and stone. Nothing competes with the window.
